This morning we went to the girls home for breakfast. The girls got ready for church and then gave us a very sweet devotional. They sang three songs, then each of them told us what their favorite Bible verse was, and recited it, word for word! Yanitza told us the story of Joseph and his beautifully colored coat.
The girls left for Sunday School and we got ready to go to church. The Nazarene church is only a few blocks away. We were greeted warmly by the congregation there, and pastor Francisco and his wife Anna were especially welcoming. The church service was about two hours long and included a LOT of singing. Celebrations, prayer, Scripture, and a talk from an associate pastor rounded out the service.
For lunch, we ate with the girls, and had chicken, salad, refried beans and tortillas, which we have learned are standard at EVERY meal. The girls all spread out on the cold tile floor for a brief siesta. As they napped, we continued to prepare for the festivities this afternoon.
